Malin Hässlemark is a Swedish singer-songwriter with roots in Hammarstrand, Jämtland, and a sound deeply rooted in americana and country. Before embarking on her solo career, she was the creative force behind the americana band Fluru, writing and performing music that reached audiences in Sweden, Germany and the Netherlands.

Growing up in the small community of Hammarstrand, surrounded by the mountains of Jämtland, Malin’s musical journey began at home, shaped by her father’s beloved record collection and the sounds of country legends such as Dolly Parton, Waylon Jennings and Emmylou Harris. Today, that early connection to country music forms the foundation of her artistry: a soulful, distinctive voice and emotionally direct songwriting, combining the timeless character of classic americana with a distinctly Nordic sensibility.

In 2024, Malin launched her solo career with the release of her debut EP Wildfire, produced by acclaimed guitarist and producer Ola Gustafsson, known for his work with artists including First Aid Kit, Lars Winnerbäck and Melissa Horn. The EP also features jazz and soul singer Ida Sand, who arranged and sang backing vocals on several tracks, as well as Malin’s husband Claes Hässlemark on keyboards and backing vocals and Andreas Quincy Dahlbäck on drums and percussion.

The title track Wildfire was featured on Håkan Steen’s (Aftonbladet) “Best Right Now” Spotify playlist, while One of These Days topped the P4 Toppen chart in Jämtland for several weeks. Her music has also been featured on international playlists and radio stations, reaching listeners well beyond Sweden.

Malin’s voice has been described as “a world-class voice” by Swedish Radio, with comparisons to artists such as Emmylou Harris and Bonnie Raitt. Her songs combine gripping, personal lyrics with timeless melodies, creating music that feels both rooted in tradition and distinctly her own.

Since launching her solo career, Malin has performed at a number of notable venues and events, including Storsjöyran in Östersund and concerts alongside Lars Bygdén. In the summer of 2026, she reached a major milestone when she performed at the iconic Dalhalla venue twice, appearing as a support artist for Takida.

On September 30, 2026, Malin releases her debut album Bring Me Home, produced by Ola Gustafsson. The album marks the next chapter of her artistic journey and is followed by a Swedish release tour in autumn 2026, including several concerts with Lars Bygdén and a support performance for the reunion of The Thousand Dollar Playboys in Sundsvall.

With Bring Me Home, Malin Hässlemark steps fully into her role as a solo artist – bringing together the landscapes, stories and musical heritage that have shaped her, while looking firmly towards the future of Swedish Americana.
